It has been a long time since I last wrote an email to you. Hope that you have done well for promos and enjoyed your sabbaticals. I think most of you would agree with me that it is grossly unfair for the school to expect us to be superhumans by organizing a whole series of events right after promos, while RJ pple have 1 week off. But nevertheless, like what Mr. Low said, the ordeal would be over before the end of this month, or for some of us, by the first few days of November. Like it or not, PW is an A-Level Examination and WR and OP alone would constitute a whopping 80 percent of our overall PW grade (in other words, these two components WILL determine what grade we get). I may stating the obvious but I thought it would be good to share my thoughts with all of you.
But even then, I think it would only be appropriate if we could set some time aside for 1 or 2 class outings before the holidays kick in. What places would you suggest? And what time and date? I would like to hear from you. Personally, I have several suggestions below for your perusal:
1. Snowcity ($12 per pax for 1 hr)
2. Escape Theme Park ($16.50 per pax)
3. Picnic at Bukit Timah Reserve (Free)
4. East Coast Park (Free)
5. Sentosa ($3 per pax for express train svc from Vivo)
6. Night Safari ($22 per pax)
7. Gathering at a classmate's house
8. Others
I would be passing a record sheet around in PW class on 10 Oct (Wed) for you to indicate your interest. A hard copy of this email will be attached to it then. For options 7 and 8, please specify accordingly.
I am not sure whether if large groups of people are given discounts for the above venues (or any other venues you can propose). Alternatively, if someone else have fast food outlet discount coupons, we could also consider going down to have a meal.
Besides, I would also like to have a rough gauge of when you would like the class outing to be held:
1. Term 4 Week 5 (15 Oct -- day off in lieu of Hari Raya Puasa)
2. Term 4 Week 6 (20/21 Oct)
3. Term 4 Week 7 (27/28 Oct)
4. Others
For option 4, please specify accordingly.
The bottomline is for all of us to have fun and to involve as many classmates (and teachers) as possible. In the meantime, "piah" like mad for your PW and at the end of the day, I am sure we would be immensely satisfied with the extraordinary effort we put in!
